Needing to rent a pellet grill over Christmas in San Diego/Oceanside area...

My mom's family is spending Christmas in Oceanside, CA at a rented house this coming December, but none of us reside there. My husband (Josh) and I live in Soldotna, Alaska and we are wanting to bring Kenai River red salmon and do a supper for them. My dad-in-law and a partner bought the Traeger dealership for the state of Alaska several years ago and he had a store for a couple of years selling them. And while he has sold out to his former business partner, Josh's whole family is convinced that pellet grills are the way to go for grilling, especially fish. And they are!!! So would anyone know of somebody that has a commercial size (or several small) pellet grills we could rent for an evening? The family deal is the 24th-28th, and we will be 38 people. I searched party rentals in Oceanside/San Diego for a while but they all only have charcoal or propane. So I thought maybe someone on here would have one, or know of others that did. Any info would be helpful... thanks in advance!!! Brooke

Brooke, Can't help with the rentals as I'm in WA. St., but I lived in Soldotna from '82-'89. I helped build the Tourist Info Center there. Also fished for fall Silvers right down below it before the shoreline was modernized. Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to PelletSmoking Brooke!

Brooke, please don't take this the wrong way as I'm only trying to help. If you were to walk into a room of people it would be considered a breach of etiquette if instead of saying hello and introducing yourself first you just started asking questions. An online forum has the same rules of etiquette as if you were standing in a room in front of us.
It might have helped garner you more responses from the group had you simply said hello first then introduced yourself and then told us about your need to rent a pellet cooker. And then again, it may be that I'm the only one here that's a stickler for online etiquette and nobody in the group knows where to rent a peller cooker in Oceanside, CA. Just my humble opinion.

I've not heard of anyone who rents pellet cookers anywhere, commercial grade or otherwise.

Thanks, and hello to you :) We really like Soldotna, and I just fished the Kenai for silvers for the first time last week. My husband likes to fish...and they had a vote whether to move the tourist center to a different building this summer, and it got voted down...I was kinda glad, they have a neat location with the river right there...we have more relation near Othello, WA.

Ok, I've not been on a forum before, so I'm not surprised I goofed :) I didn't know where for sure to start looking, and decided to email a local Traeger dealer and he referred me to this website. So I posted the same day, without thinking it through much, partly because I wonder if the chances of getting it during that time frame are slim...although we don't need it on Christmas day, someone else is cooking that meal. And we can pay in advance, your choice of fish or money.

Hi, I'm fresh to this forum as well, and am a fellow pellet grill user. I have also been looking recently for possible commercial pellet grill rentals in the Bay Area for a weekend this summer. Brooke, I was curious if you were able to locate something for your family? Oceanside obviously isn't too close to San Mateo, but I'm hoping you found a good resource. Thanks for any information. It's much appreciated.
