Cleaning

Hi,

was cleaning up today. I am WOW impressed with the drip tray on the four star I must say. Props to Bob & MAK crew! I scraped out at least a good 1/2 cup of solid grease material and some intermixed pellet ashes into the trash! A little soapy water and it looks fit to eat off!

Trying to clean the crud off the FrogMat and best idea I had was to soak it in hot soapy dish soap then rinse. What are the rest of ya'll doing?

Also, my wife has been complaining about the granite back-splash having skidmarks from the smoke. I've so far been putting her off. I am thinking about a razor scraper, but 409 ain't worth diddly, and using a steam cleaner would leave a sloppy mess where it drips down behind the grill. So I'm going to either use a mechanical device, or light spray on/wipe off after the scraping. I know 409 doesn't work, but does anyone know what might? I should point out that her oven inside is filthy!

Thanks!

Dishwasher for the Frogmats, Greased Lightning for the smoke stains. Greased Lighting takes off the smoke stains from my MAK stainless, it should work for the granite also.

Adding to the shopping list! Thanks! Wife emptied the Dishwasher so we will see how that worked on the frogmat! Doing twin pork butts to see how different rubs/marinade/injections work tomorrow. Loving the MAK lifestyle! Used to plan a whole day to do a pork butt! Now its just "Easy Smokin', Smokin' Easy!"

Yeah, the dishwasher didn't really do a whole lot for the FrogMat for me, but I've been having problems with the dishwasher anyway.
Thanks

I generally break the chunks off by hand and then roll it up and put it on the bottom rack in the dishwasher. I have found that the dishwasher generally will not remove the cooked on chunks, but it does a great job of removing the grease.

This might sound funny, but the way we clean our frogmats is to simply put some dishwashing liquid in our hands, a little hot water and rub the frogmat in between as if washing our hands, then rinse well. They seam to clean right up, very quickly every time.

That doesn't sound funny to me - that sounds like a great idea!
