Just got Mak 1 serial 505 yesterday and it showed up with what I believe to be some issues. First, when I tried my first burn off of HIGH for 30 minutes, the igniter wasn't heating and I kept getting a Flame Out error and it would shut down. After some research, I discovered, the igniter cord wasn't attached to the motherboard. I attached it and it seemed to ignite.
It never got to what I believed to be above 250 degrees or so. It would run for a while, you can hear to augur working and the fan blowing fire out of the firebox. Then it would stop heating up and it would keep off another Flame Out error and force me to shut it down.
I tried cooking bacon at 400 this morning and it never got hot enough to cook. It took 30 minutes to the front piece to cook just enough to be sort of crispy. I had to put these rest in the oven.
It constantly read IGNITING and SETPOINT. Never did it read GRILL TEMP any any point during the burn off or this morning with the bacon at 400.
I am currently using the Mak pellets that came with the smoker.
Any thoughts?
Darren
