Chicken on the Hasty Bake

For some reason I decided to see if the Hasty Bake could run at low temps. Never tried before, set it for 200 with a Stoker and light one corner of the charcoal load. Did great at 200 so I moved the temp up to 275 which is where we do a lot of slow cooking at these days. Once again held temp fine and recover well after opening lid to check temps inside.
Which got me thinking being it is hot and there are some uncooked chicken thighs in the frig, we should cook some dinner.

The Rub and Sauce are good. Next order will be 5lbs of Rub and Gallons of the sauce. They make a easy way to cook as they are made for each other. We use a lot of the rub on the chicken and let it sit for 30 minutes a side before it hits the grill.

Here are some more photos . Hopefully it shows how two holes hold it to the door and the other three are for air input. The nuts should be wing nuts as they only can be hand tight (double Panel door) It is a piece of C channel with the ends closed up.The 90 bend helps from running into the fan. the vents on the other side is where we run the temp probe in. At low temps they should be closed

Well the 15 minutes of me thinking I don't need to buy any more grilling stuff is officially OVER. I wonder if I can make my IQ110 Pitmaster work with the Hasty Bake? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Nice cook!
