Congrats to BP on his brisket win yesterday scoring a 180..which for those that don't know is a perfect score(all judges giving 9's)like a 300 in bowling...great job buddy!
I'd like to wish a fellow BPS team member Scott Nelson of Pig Skin BBQ good luck this weekend..BP is helping him out and I hope you both have a great time.
Looking forward to Ca's biggest comp yet..I think it's around 70 teams and the best in the state will be in attendance...looking for a strong finish from both BPS and LCQ..see ya there!
I cooked these ribs for a party awhile back..I think I showed these pics to BP already but I wanted to show the rest of you guys what kind of color and look judges look for in ribs..the rub was plowboys yardbird and another rub mixed..set to smoke for an hour then ramped up to 275 for another 3...
Ok so as the season winds down and were all starting to get the itch to get to another comp I'm sitting here cooking a bunch of meat for a party and watching more pitmasters on tv(again!)..It got me thinking watching all these nice boxes..how about playing a little game..I'll show you mine if...
Ok Sterling now I know it's just the lil ol CBBQA your favorite Association..J/k LOL.. but we just took the lead by 26 points..last three comps 2nd,2nd,3rd..all cooked on the MAK 2 star..the season is not over yet but!!!..just a testament to how bulletproof that workhorse is!!...thanks again...
This will be the second cook on the new 2 star..I'm precooking a few butts and briskets tomorrow..just wanted to get a few pointers from you all and see how you guys do yours..we cook mostly on the whole hog but I don't want to fire it 2 days in a row if I don't have to..thanks.
