BBQ sauce

Made up some BBQ sauce up this weekend. Turned out great. Now how long can I keep it before it goes bad? Made up of stuff from the fridge so hoping it will last like any other bottle?

actually not so much. the fact you used stuff from the fridge it doesn't take into account the chemical reaction that happens when you mix stuff. I make some of my own and used it up to 90 days after it was made. I just wouldn't keep it much longer. One of the things I do is mix mine in a heated pot and cook it.

Freezing would extend a year I would think. Important to freeze in a container that you can remove the frozen block from then seal up in a vacuum bag to eliminate freezer burn

Yep, agree with Jim. The acidity of the items you add to the sauce (ie vinegar) should help to preserve it in the fridge. The sauce I've frozen never solidifies, it just gets sludgy. I figure if I was a scientist, I'd be able to explain why my BBQ sauce doesn't freeze solid.
I've had a number of opened BBQ sauce bottles in my fridge for months on end with a small amount of noticable degredation the longer it stays in the fridge. I mean like 2 months I notice a difference but it's still usable just not as fresh tasting.

So keeping it for a month shouldn't be an issue? Don't see any need for keeping it longer than that and I didn't make enough to last much longer than another weekend. Might make a little more next time as long as I can keep it for a month.

Thanks

A month shouldn't be a problem for BBQ sauce but keep in mind, it's slowly declining, not getting any better.
