Be Careful Cleaning Out the Fire Pot

The other day I took the fire pots out of my 4 Star to dump the ash. When I restarted the grill my left pot wouldn't light. Turns out I didn't have the igniter rod aligned with the hole in the fire pot and I pushed it backwards when the pot was seated. Had to climb halfway into the grill to finally see it and pull it back out. I guess I should get a shop vac. Just a friendly tip.

With our MAK Grills use the shop vac only when cleaning the drums. All other times just sweep it out the hatch. I will guess you will not do the same thing twice

The igniter is held into position with a clip that has a stopper on the back of it to locate its position. You must have popped it completely out of the holder to have pushed it backward that far. Double check that it's installed properly and you should be fine removing the pot in and out after that just being careful. The 4 Star is more difficult to see because the pots are facing away from you and are farther away.

With the grill cold you should be able to feel the rod snapped into the holder, then pull forward slightly and back again until it stops against the backstop. Call or email if you are not sure.
