all my cooks come out with very strong smoke flavor. should there be a small hole in bottom to get air circulation?

Most smokers have both bottom & top vents for air flow. Which model do you have? Electric or Gas?

this is a electric. i have been smoking for several years and know the differance between smoke and creasote flaver. i get lots of smoke flavor from my drum and love the flavor. sorry to ask a question

A guy I work with has one. He burns pellets (I give him some of my stash from time to time).

Usually just a scoop full, every 20 minutes, for the first 2 hours.
I've had some smoked bologna off of his smoker and I didn't find it overpowering.

That Cajun Injector Electric is a replica of the Masterbuilt Electric; air intake is adjustable and works with the chip loader. If your model is older than approximately 10 years it may not have an exhaust, this would attribute to the strong smoke taste which is bitter from too much creosote that you get from lack of ventilation.

Thank you for the help. This is new from sportsman warehouse 4 days ago. The feed door makes sense for air circulation but they say to keep it closed to stop pellets from catching fire. I have never used the water pan as I was worried the moisture would bring on the creosote taste. Do you think it might help? I thank you for your help. I do not think the pellets are the problem, There are to many people using them. I used a pellet grill one time and loved the flavor. I have a brisket to do, I might just use the UDS. Again, thanks for the help
