I took the plunge and bought the MAK 2 Star for my first pellet smoker. Just got it yesterday and put it together and it is built like a tank. Cooked up some chicken tonight and the wife could not stop saying how good it was. My friend has a Traeger and tried to get me to purchase one and I will say I am glad I didn't. The MAK is awesome.

Welcome coppersmoke to the ps forum and to the MAK family. I did the same thing, I bought the MAK 2 (#1366 ) as my first pellet grill/smoker and absolutely love it.

Welcome! I too am new to the MAK world having recently upgraded. I am impressed with the workshop of the MAK and the ease of use. I will be doing my first brisket on the MAK this weekend - that will be the true test for me.
