Fathers Day! Do you get to cook?

Ok this is for both sexes but really for the Fathers out there. As one of the perks of being a father and this supposed to be your day....do you get to smoke the meal? I'm asserting my rights and trying to cook all day! Yahoo!

I'll be smoking up some ribs for the whole family at my parents house. I believe there will be 11 of us there, maybe more.

obviously I'm not a dad but I will be stepping aside Sunday so Kevin can whip up a meal for his dad :)

If it were mother's day my preference would not to cook alone but to cook WITH Kevin if he were home ....

Yes! And with so many great recipes posted here, I don't know what to cook. My wife keeps telling me to buy some grill grates so we can reverse sear some steaks, so, maybe now is the time. I also need pellets, some rub, and I'm starting to gas for a Mac.

Dang it BP, you're influencing two very important parts of my life. :)

whatever i want and the family can't say anything. 1st off i will start w/ mimosas all around. i'm having fun this day. i'm thinking some tatonka shrimp abt's, some carter fish tacos, bp's smoked steak house mushrooms w/ prime filets, patty's maple cake. everything i eat that day will come from the "hall of fame recipes" section. i'm going to eat well. :)

The kids are both in Georgia right now on a mission trip with their youth group, and they don't get back 'till Monday. The wife will be sleeping because she has to work overnight that night, so it's looking like this dad will be cooking/doing whatever he wants.

My wife has already said, "What are you cooking for Father's Day?" That was right after she asked what I am cooking for our 44th anniversary on the 15th. Looks like I better get some serious meal planning going, soon. Better check the freezer and see what we have (and don't have). I have a hunch that I may not get to cook too much since we are scheduled to baby sit the grandson part of the weekend.

Sadly, the new Memphis will not arrive in time so I am guessing (rain Gods willing) that I will be grilling something on the gasser. Then again, it might be the gasser on the back of the boat at anchor. We will see what the weather holds. The one thing I know for sure, it won't be smoked on my new pellet grill (head hanging, shoulders hunched, kicking at the ground..).

My wife's birthday is on father's day this year. I think it will shake out that we celebrate her birthday on Saturday by going into the city and hopefully I will be able to cook for Father's day. Personal choice would be rack of lamb, but family doesn't like it so I will pick something that everyone likes.

I will not get to cook as I will be working this weekend, but will hopefully get some smoking in the next few days. I am planning on a meat loaf and chicken.

Yes I will be. The meal plan is brisket, a few steaks for my dad, chicken, smokey beans and cheesy potatoes. Should be a good day.

On Saturday I will be smoking buffalo brisket for my father and cooking up King Crab Legs. On Sunday My wife has told me I am not to do any smoking. She and the boys will be doing all of the cooking. I am not worried, just concerned.

I'll be cooking something just not sure what. BP's 6 prime NY sounds good. I'll have to ck out Sam's no Costco's around these parts.
