well, came home after a 10 hour day and my wife, daughter, her boyfriend and my son were hungry. lol, like i cared. well, apparently i was wrong. my wife told me to make some dinner for everyone. okie dokie. where is my FT. out to the back yard to fire up 3 grills.

cut up some potatoes, jalapeno, onions and garlic. threw down some evoo, desert gold and some soileaus.

found some tri tips. the one on the right i used cherry balsamic w/ desert gold (i called kristen the other day and this one was her recipe). the left one was kirkland rub.

seared the costco tri tip and then separated the charcoal and cooked it indirect (cant wait until i get my hasty bake).

the other one onto #336 @ 325°.

potatoes and corn on #63 @ 400°.

oh, smoke (i used a foil packet of apple pellets).

the costco weber tri tip was done. the mak tri tip hit 125° so i threw it on the weber to give it a good sear.

Very nice, looks great!
Did you have a preference between the tri-tip flavors?

ya, the balsamic one was juicer and the flavor was ok but the costco rub one cooked just ove the lump tasted better. should have cooked both over the lump. i want to try the plain balsamic on another tri tip soon. i also like LL w/P (little louies w/ pepper) or DSSr (double secret steak rub) on my tri tips. i did eat alot of both though.

I love all the spices you used...I need to order some new stuff I see!! :p

Really like the addition of jalapenos in the potatoes, I usually do all the same as you but instead of jalapenos I do baby carrots and mushrooms. I think my potatoes will have a new twist next time!!
