Glazing question ?

On my last chicken wing cook i wanted to add a little sweetness to the lemon pepper wings. I put plenty of honey on them and then cooked. You could hardly taste any sweetness. I am wondering if the honey melted off or just dripped away. How do I get a nice seet glaze on the wings?

If glazing with sauce or a sweet glaze usually I wait to glaze until shortly before pulling the wings off. But that's mainly so the sauce or glaze doesn't burn.

When I occasionally glaze my ribs with honey I'll wait until the ribs are done, pull them off, glaze with honey and let them rest loosely tented with foil. During the rest, the honey has a chance to just meld into the bark and glazes them beautifully.
