Grill mats for smoking for ribs and brisket?

Wife and I use them but more for products like chicken wings so the skin don't stick to the grate, great for holding together a stuffed pork tenderloin having the mat rolled around it, supports a meatloaf much better than the grate, keeps asparagus from falling through the grate, excellent for shrimp and fish... the list is endless, truly an excellent tool to have in your arsenal!

Like MossyMo, I use them for things that are soft were I want more support like meatloaf, fish, etc or smaller items like shrimp or something that I don't want to fall through the grates.

Never needed them for shoulders, brisket or ribs.

I will use Frogmats when smoking anything that I think may fall apart when transferring from smoker. Of course make sure you have your gloves on (LOL how do I know that).

Nice. I was just thinking of ease of cleaning, but I wondered about how the temp variance would be from the mat interfering with heat from underneath. Think I'll just use it as is.

There is no temp variance when using frog mats; they don't block heat.
