While walking through a Costco I saw a treager and wouldn't you know they had a sales rep there. So after a year of looking at these grills I bought a junior well it's been 6 months and yes I am already scouring the net for the upgrade........my wife just rolls her eyes
Not a bash on Traeger but I call them the nmost expensive pellet grill....they hook you and then you look for the other features like higher heat and stable temps
Hahaha. My wife rolls her eyes to. I got a junior New Year's Day 2012. Christmas 2012. I got the Texas . I wanted the 2 star or Yoder but the wife asked I put that on a 3 yr plan. In the mean time this forum which I'm a hardcore lurker has amazing cooks and I've learned and applied to cooking on a traeger and I'm a big fan of BP rubs
The wife list
Jr needed fire bricks
Jr needed a hopper extension
Jr needed a orotech controller
Texas got fire bricks
Texas got blanket
Texas got a front shelf
Texas got a rack for sausage
Texas just got a savannah stoker controller
I had to have
MAverick remote temp
Frogmats
Thermapen. British green
Grill grates
And the list goes on.
Thank goodness my wife has a cake decorating hobby that is almost as cash intense
If I has patience I would have a Mak but since I don't I learn on what I can get passed the banker
I also started with a Treager but now in the process of upgrading to a MAK 2 Star. Just waiting for PayPal to load up. Reason I decided on the MAK, best controller (in my mind) out there. Will also order the Wifi when it comes out.
I had all the items in my Treager bricks, blanket, etc

Pellet addiction is a ten step plan. The first five take about two years. This is where you learn what you can do with a pellet grill. The second five is where you apply what you have learned and it takes a lifetime! Welcome to the group.
