Help! Traeger Issue...

I just did my initial burn last night. Today I wanted to fire it up, but the auger won't move. Did this happen to anyone else??

Also dumb question - after my burn last night, I just turned the switch/dial to "off" and closed the lid. Is that how you shut it down?

I followed the initial firing instructions exactly last night, I don't know what I could've done wrong for it to not be working today.

So I followed all of the troubleshooting steps, and I believe the auger is just stuck. Hope this doesn't become a common occurrence.

Your shutdown process sounds like what I used to do with my Lil Tex. Sorry to hear about your issue. Call the Traeger Cust Svc line on Monday. It could be the auger or the controller.
Is yours the 3 position or the digital controller?
I'm assuming when you power it up there are obvious signs of power? If not, I'd check the GFI fuse that controls the outside outlets. Run an extension cord from an inside outlet to your pit to see if power is the issue.
I'd pull the front panel and check for any fuses and make sure all the cable connectors are still connected.
More details on exactly what is and isn't working, what exactly it's doing when you power up can help us give better advice.

I have the digital temp dial. I am getting power, the draft fan turns on and the auger (and auger fan) looks like it's trying to turn. From my instruction manual that points to a jammed auger. I troubleshooted by changing which wires go to the draft fan and the auger and the draft fan works on either...so that points to power from the control board to the mechanical devices is there, possibly just a jam.

I found a you tube video on how to remove the auger, and it's not hard. I tried it last night, I just don't have the write allen wrench. My luck. So I'm going to get that figured out tomorrow, hopefully!

You need the new digital temp dial with the board behind it where all of the wires go out??

What did Traeger say about it? Did they just send a new one? I might end up having to go that route, we'll see.

Have you had any problems since?!

Sounds right to me. When you get the auger out, put it on a flat surface and roll it looking for anywhere on the auger that is not making contact with the flat surface. But you probably already knew to do that...

Did not think to do that, but I will do that in the future if it jams.

I was able to fix the jam, and proceeded to prepare the rub on my ribs I had wanted to cook. Then only to have the pellets not ignite! But, after cussing my grill, I realized that through the troubleshooting and finagling with the grill one of the wires for the draft fan became disconnected. I re-connected it and all was great. Until my wife got home and told me we had plans that I didn't know about.

We finallllly got to use it the other night though - wood fired pizza. Unfortuantely last minute - but store-bought Freschetta dough, fire roasted tomato sauce, mozz cheese and pepperoni. Yumm! Defintely making the dough myself next time though.

They fixed it next day. Two weeks later the igniter went so they fixed that too and upgraded me to the digital controller. I got about a year of cooking after that before I had to change the igniter again (warrantied) no real complaints here. The food tastes great, still would like to upgrade to a mak or yoder someday.

I had a couple of times where it started out okay only to come back hours later to a cold roast. Don't remember why, that was 6 or 7 years ago when I first bought it. Since then it has given me trouble free performance. I love that thing.
