I do believe that there is a Hogfish Darwin. Habit the waters off the coast of Florida and gulf region. Very fine table fare too. I talked to a spear fisher from that area and he said they're very curious and not so bright. One actually swam up to the end of the spear and put it's mouth over the spear tip. Hogfish
On the west coast it's know as a Fig. A prehistoric fish thought to go extinct in the Cretaceous Period, as did the Coelacanth, which was rediscovered when one was caught in 1938 off the coast of Africa. Interestingly, there's been nothing in the news about this exciting discovery!
