So when I get home from work and fire up the Mak 2 how much time will it take to get up to grilling temperature (450)? Outside temp in the low 70's?

Thanks,

Phred

Or do what I do. . Call the wife and kid have them plug it in and start it up. By the time I get home and changed it ready to go.

Also keep firbox clean of ashes to help speed up how quickly the temp rises. My Mak gets to temp quicker when my grill is freshly cleaned of ashes then if I start it after three cooking sessions with ash build up. That's just my experience and I've been using the same pellets with each cook.

Just my 2 cents worth but if you are using grill grates you really don't need to go to 450. If I am grilling chicken I never go above 375.
