I wanted to share with my friends here at pellet smoking the results of our Wounded Warrior BBQ Benefit. I know many of you have participated in BBQ fund raisers before, but this was my first and the first for our association. First of all I was blown away by the generosity of so many, including Sterling who donated a Drum Kit, and three gift certificates to Big Poppas Smokers for our raffle. Thank You! Our goal of $5k was nearly doubled to $10k thru cash donations, raffle ticket sales, and BBQ sales. We cooked 80 pork butts, 55 of which were sold whole. Our BBQ association made nearly 600 pulled pork sandwiches in 3.5 hours. Sadly we sold out an hour early, but were thrilled to raise so much money for a very worthy charity. My sign painter who is a WWII Naval veteran and one of the last remaining crew members of his battleship painted our sign last minute and didn't charge us. I know he misspelled warriors, and he would be horrified. God Bless Ron.
