Lakeland Pig Fest, FL

Had a good time over at the Lakeland Pig Fest today. This is probably the biggest KCBS Competition in Florida and its Jam packed. I was told that out of around 150 teams 27 of them where all pellet teams. Even most of the teams that had big smokers had a pellet smoker lurking in thier camp.

Great picts. If you get a chance to go experience a real BBQ competition, you should. You develop a certain appreciation for what the teams are doing (or not doing). As a KCBS Certified BBQ Judge I have learned a lot both judging and then being able to walk around and observing what is going on after the judging is over. There are a lot of great folks out there competing, and having fun.
