Looking for new Pellet smoker with wide ranging Temp control

Hi! Looking for some advice. Been using a Traeger for 12 years now, but have started to do homemade "jerky". I say "Jerky" because I do not dehydrate the meat, but let the smoke cook it instead. But my Traeger died last night, and need a new smoker that will allow me to control the temp from very low (Smoke to 115 degrees or so) up to 400 using 5 degree increments. I like the fact that the GREEN MOUNTAIN brand allows me to do this, but am wondering if the MAK 1 allows me to do the same? Any advice on which is better for my purpose?? Thanks!! Ross

Green Mountain is a good brand for less money, MAK and Yoder are more heavily built. Not sure about the temperature control

I am not aware of any pellet grill that could keep 115 in the main chamber and not have the fire go out. 160 is about the lowest

If the super-smoker box was added to the MAK 2 Star, what would be the temp inside the smoker box if the controller was set to SMOKE ?

Wow 12 years out of a traeger is a good run. I agree with Jim my one star runs 160-180 on the smoke setting. I would love to see what would happen if you placed a full sheet pan with two 20lb blocks of ice on the bottom rack with the jerky on the second rack above it.
