Just bought this cooker in july and every time i use the searing feature it causes the finish to blister on the outside above the searing grate. Called the company and customer service was great but it continues to happen. They sent me a can of high temp paint for the outside of the cooker. Need some input on if i should return this unit.
Other than that its a great pellet grill.

I can only imagine your frustration. :( I guess it boils down to a few things:

1) How often are you having to repaint the outside?

2) Do you want to have to keep repainting it?

3) Are you concerned about rust issues if you don't keep repainting it?

And the most important question:

4) Will they even let you return it for a paint issue? Their Warranty states:
There is no specific warranty on the paint, powder coat, burn grate, grill cover and all gaskets or against damage caused by corrosion.

If they won't, then one option you may want to consider is removing the hood and take it to a body or metal shop that does high temp powder coat finishing. This would cost a few $$, but it may be a solution if you are enjoying the grill otherwise.

Whatever you do, welcome to the forum! Be sure to stick around and join in the fun.
