there are better ways to make the rib-o-lator but then it wouldn't fit most grills. my original proto-type was bigger to fit my grill but then it wouldn't fit others so if i was to sell them i would have to find a happy medium so it would work on 90% of all grills. the width and length of the tray is 5" X 17" which is about the width and length of baby backs. for spars i just cut the width down and maybe a bone of the end.
as far as the center of gravity issue. i could raise the center of gravity but then it would probably hit the burners on most grills as it rotated, so where it is at is the best spot. if your cooking food that slides around (anything round) then you have to make sure it is centered and then it works fine. once you use it a few times you get the hang of it.
i also made and adjustable tray that expands from 1in to 2ft
i could custom make one to fit pellet grills that would address any issues but i would have to place an order for 500.
