I am new to the site, so forgive my question if it regarded as "stupid". It might get to 20 degrees today in Salt Lake City--pretty nice compared to other places in the US--but I have an ancient Treager w/3 settings on which I want to smoke a pork shoulder. Should I try to smoke in this frigid weather?

Welcome to the Forum! Sure, most of my cooks this year it has been cooler out than 20. With the 3 settings controller your cook might take longer than with a digital control, (due to lower temps).

Welcome to PelletSmoking! Sorry, can't help you with your analog controller. I had a 180LV controller on my Lil Tex.

YOu can do it but may end up switching back and forth on the controller to get the heat you want

Welcome aboard! Hey the only stupid question is the one you don't ask! How did that shoulder come out?
