Hi everyone. I just got my first pellet smoker, a Traeger from Costco. My older smoker is all but dead now, a propane Kingfisher Kountry Kooker. I bought it somewhere around 14 years ago and it's been a great addition to my family. The ones made now have stainless steel burners, wood boxes and water jackets, plus much better tires for moving them around. Mine are rusted steel and very hard wheels. At the time I bought it, they also sold Traegers and they were the first pellet cooker that I had ever seen. When I was choosing which to buy, they had 2 traegers in the back where water had entered the pellet hopper and swelled the pellets to where the auger would not turn. I also liked the large shelves the Kingfisher had on it as a cooks helper. Now I need to get me just the right table to set beside my new Traeger. It didn't even occur to me that Traegers were no longer made in the USA. Too bad, but it's too late now. My first endeaver was ribeye steaks last night, no sear marks, but they tasted just fine. Tonight was an even easier meal of a take and bake Papa Murphys pizza. Hopefully I can get the time Sunday to actually smoke something, I'm thinking ribs. I've just read where they now like to foil them after some cooking time now. Never tried it, but tomorrow is another day. My all time favorites on my Kingfisher has always been ribs, whole chickens, turkey and brisket. Send all your hints and tips my way, this is a whole new way to cook and eager to learn.

Thanks from Colorado
