My new natural gas fire pit

Wanted a gas fire pit for outside but did not want to spend the money they want for those things. So I bought a $99 wood fire pit from Lowe's and made my own natural gas burner system from 1/2 inch black pipe. And I have 20lbs of blue fire glass from Amazon on order to fill the bottom. Once the fire glass gets here it will be ready to go ;)

And at full gas

Plenty of BTUs coming off that thing! Should be pretty with the fire glass.

Here is what the glass looks like ;D

Rick it is freestanding and movable so I can move it to wherever I want the pit. I got 25ft of hose ;)

The first thing that popped into my mind was the flames off the glass and onto some sort of water feature would be too cool. Just a thought.

i very cool idea. your very hands on type of guy muebe. this and your flame zone on your select. i'm thinking good flames for hotdogs and marshmellows. :)

Very cool. So what was your final cost for everything?

Pit- $99.00
Fire glass- $38.00
Valve and pipe- $14.00
Gas quick connect hose- $20.00
Wheels- $4.00
Handle- $2.00
Play sand- $5.00
Electronic ignition kit- $15.00

Not bad for a mobile natural gas fire pit with electronic ignition and fire glass ;)

Pretty cool muebe. That's a nice focal point for an evening on the deck. Years ago I worked on a house where we had a round SS tub made that was filled with water and had a pipe looped around in the bottom with the prope sized jet holes drilled in it. The natural gas bubbled up though the water where it ignited. It looked like the whole surface of the water was burning.

Yeah. I think cleaning a lost marshmallow is probably impossible to fix without removing the dirty fire glass. I don't know if it will burn off. I think I'll stick to marshmallow roasting in the pizza oven.

Thanks, but I paid someone else to do mine. I think they plugged the holes so fire only comes up through the block S. too bad we lost to the Irish yesterday,

Patiently waiting for my MAK..... Couple more weeks I hope
