Ok I have been slightly scarce this week....

Monday I played in a music business golf tournament. Crazy tournament run bu promoters of punk rock and metal tours. The people watching was great especially the Jaegermeister tent....We won

Tuesday Practice cook with the Godfather Johnny Trigg. What a treasured day.

Weds My youngest son had liver surgery at UCLA....IT was very stressful but these guys are absolute geniuses and everything went well. For those of you who dont know he was born with Polycystic Kidney Disease and had eight operations before his turned six including getting my right kidney. This surgery was related to his original condition. He has one more and things should be great. Once again a really hard day that turned out great.

Thurs. Woke up and cooked another practice brisket...met Johnny Trigg for Breakfast and then took him back to the casa and he was laughing that I was cooking ANOTHER brisket. It came out the best yet and I think that I have settled on my recipe...Johnny gave it a 999. Nice work and then dinner and crash.

Here is today...8am Film the Big Poppa Smokers submission video for season 3 of BBQ Pitmasters. 12pm Film Johnny's for him. 2pm prep the Strube Ranch Wagyu Prime Ribs for the Trigg Class...3pm put them on the original MAK. 4pm Class starts...I will be lucky to get tqwo hours of sleep...but as Jimsbarbque and Trent cann tell you these classes are nirvana for a smoke fan.

OH yeah and I worked inbetween....hope this wasnt to boring but wanted to explain my scarcity.

Take care of yourself and your family BP! Glad to hear things went well. Just like a few months ago I am sitting in a hotel on the start of the Johnny Trigg class, I only wish I was flying to Cali again. Maybe I can change my flight, I'll stand out on the road with binoculars or something although it wouldn't be the same not getting any scraps from Johnny's cooks!

Sometimes life takes a lot of juggling. It sound like you have a lot to be thankful for. Family, good friends, and lots of prayers. I'm glad all went well for your son. Hope everything goes great this weekend.

Really glad to hear surgery went well for Casey. I'm sure all of us, as parents, send our best and most positive thoughts and prayers. And for those of you who think of BP as a chick magnet - I'm here to tell you those were passed down to his sons.

Long ago if you ask me. :D

The real question is - how'd you shoot on Monday? Dayam it's been 5 months since I've played. I'm missing summer.

Oh, and care to share your secrets on your "best ever" brisket?

Hey Sterling, glad to hear your son's surgery went well! Congrats on the golf win! I too have been absent this last week, just got home late last night, now in the middle of 8-10 inches of snow. Winter finally found us...the MAK is buried.
