My name is Craig and I'm new to smoking on a Mak. My grill comes tomorrow so I might have to use a sick day. I've cooked on a Traeger Lil Texas Elite, Fast Eddy PG1000 and a Komodo Kamado but am really looking forward to cooking on the Mak. I'm looking forward to learning from everyone. My first question is will I have any issues using Lumberjack pellets on the Mak? I have Lumberjack, BBQ delight, and some Traeger pellets left. Are there other pellets worth trying?

Welcome from Atlanta Ga. And to the Mak family. I have always used BBQ delight and have never had a problem. Dont fix what aint broke. Lots of Mak people here so any questions just ask!

Ps.. Sick day is a great choice. You will need some help with assembly.

Welcome from North Dakota. We been using lumberjack pellets in our pellet grill from day one. Can't beat their price where we are located.

WElcome to PS.com! And welcome to the MAK family. You'll love your MAK!

Should be no problem with those pellets. I use BBQrs Delight. They are a wonderful mix of oak and flavorwood.

Welcome and congrats on the MAK!
I use BBQ delight and lumberjack in my MAK 2. I've had no problems at all with either brand but I will say I only use the lumberjack on short cooks (4-6) hours because of reports of problems with the fire pot filling up with ash. My longer cooks are usually overnight and I want no issues while I'm getting my beauty sleep.
