New to smokers

I bought a smoker from a guy on craigslist and I was looking on eBay for some pellets. I found a place that sells these 2 lb samples. how long do you think 2 lbs will last me? Thanks for any input!

First welcome to the forum, glad you found the site. Just a couple questions, what kind of smoker did you buy, at what temp are you going to cook at, and how long will your cook last? Two pounds of pellets won't last very long at say 250*.

Welcome! 2 lbs will not last long at all. I would say that the 2 lbs would cook a round or two of hamburgers and dogs

Welcome to the forum.

2 lbs will last for quite a few cooks, if you're talking about a regular smoker and plan to use them in foil pouches.

If you bought a pellet-fueled grill, then like the others said, they won't last long at all. Less than 2 hours at best for a low & slow cook, even less if high temp.
