new to the pellet grill

I have always had a propane/wood chunk smoker with a water bowl. Got a new GMG pellet grill for a gift. Luv it but my brisket is better and moister in my old smoker. Why is there no water bowl in the pellet smoker? Don't laugh like I said I'm new to this. Trying to figure out how to put one in there? The right spot etc? Also I learned the pellets I was using where a blend, so I'm pretty sure I know how to achieve a better smoke flavor? By using pure 100% hickory pellets will hopefully cure it?

Welcome to the forum! Depending on what's on the grill I usually throw a water bowl on. I just stick mine in a open corner. BBQer's Delight are AWESOME pellets, pretty reasonable and they are available at BPS and of course the company's website. I suggest stay away from the Traeger pellets, I've had no luck with them. I get a great smoke ring and taste with BBQer's Delight!

I like the BBQ'rs delight for getting a good smoke flavor. If you like a stronger hickory type flavor then try ordering some Black Walnut BBQ'rs Delight pellets.

For a water pan, you can put a pan on the bottom rack with the meat on a top rack. Or...

Great tip! :)

It does NOT have to be under the meat. Something as simple as a cheap loaf pan or even a tin can or two off to the side will work great!
