Howdy all!
Started making sausage from home in '87 and bringing in to a meat locker to be smoked. In the late 90's my wife brought the idea to me about trying to smoke it myself... I took after it with a refurbish fridge and have been growing my smoking interest ever since.

Do a descent amount of indirect off Weber kettle's, have 2 Masterbuilt electrics, a full size Holland and compact stainless Holland, a heavily modded Char Griller Smokin Pro, an Orion Cooker and my favorite is a home made stainless steel commercial fridge refurbished to a smoker that is propane powered with an auto ignition pilot and thermostatically controlled.

My wife also shares the interest in both grilling and smoking, so lately we have been looking at getting a pellet pooper to hopefully replace the full size Holland grill. I have searched the site a bit and have not found what you experience members think to be one of the better values for both quality and price would be. Been researching and talking with a representative on the Yoder YS640.

Would love to hear draw backs and selling points on the Yoder and also hear other suggestions on others since we are quite new to the pellet machines. Thanks in advance and look forward to getting to know the members of the forum!

For the most part we dont have any history with the Yoder...I think they took awhile to ge the bugs our but seem to be a good product. I have experience with MAK which I consider to be the cooks tool and the best and Memphis which is a fine company that is more of the point and shoot. The constant progressive innovation of MAK is hard to compete with...Griddles, Searing grates, split upper racks, half racks, searing flame pans...the list goes on. Many people are now making a fine smoker but look at the accessories that are offered and the MAk is second to none there and that means a more versatile tool in your back yard.
