Hello, my name is Pat and I am making do with a Traeger Lil Tex I acquired used two years ago. Been lurking on Big Poppa's website for a while now sniping recipes and I did recently buy from BP a Maverick remote temp unit. Been looking at the MAK, SS Memphis Pro and Fast Eddy's cookshack unit but really want a built in so either the Memphis or (fingers crossed) if a conversation I had last year with a MAK rep comes to pass and MAK makes a built in unit. I am pretty sure the prototype was pegged the "Four Star General". Please say it's so you folks from MAK!!

Welcome from a MAK-ofile from North Carolina. Being on the East Coast, we don't get the MAK news until late in the game. The only thing I have seen about a four Star were that it would be really huge, designed more for competition cooking. At least that what I am remembering.

Welcome to the forum Pat! I had a lot of fun cooking on my Lil Tex, don't regret it one bit.

Welcome to PelletSmoking! I started with a Lil Tex and learned a lot from using it. I don't regret owning it but did loose a bit of money reselling it 4 months later when I upgraded to the 2 Star.

The "build in" General will be the 3 Star while the 4 Star will have wheels on it.
