Was cooking dinner sunday night and it started to rain. No big deal light rain I was good to go. Didnt have time for unit to cool down and since it was raining didnt put the cover on. In the next 2 days it never stopped and got 6 inches of rain. Somehow rain got in the the entire unit. BIG mess. Pellet bin was a total disaster. After 2 hours of cleaning unit back to normal. Moral of the story..ALWAYS put the cover on!

Great advice, thanks Rick. I'm glad your MAK is no worse for the wear!

Late last night, in the middle of a cook, we got an unexpected downpour. I got drenched scurrying to try and get the hot MAK back in the shed. A small pavilion for outdoor cooking is now in the plans!

that does suck.. I have never had that happen and mine has been left in the rain without the cover... i guess I was lucky.
