Tonight I made BBQ chicken and started it off on the MAK and finished it on the weber. This is the first time I've done this and for sure won't be the last. Oh my goodness this was the best BBQ chicken that has ever touched my lips!
Now I see why y'all say the hasty bake is the perfect companion to the MAK. I get it now LOL!
I cooked the chicken to about 150 using hickory on the MAK Then moved it to the weber. I put two sweet potatoes and some green beans as well. The beans got a shot of EVOO with garlic and desert gold. This was a really good meal!

It's beginning to look like I may need to dust off the old Weber and move it closer to my MAK.

Great looking meal. Sooo, what is the idea behind moving the chicken from the MAK to the Weber (or Hasty Bake)? What does the second grill do for the chicken that the MAK doesn't? Thanks.

I love grilled food..i love smoked food, smoking and cooking on the MAK then moving the meat to the charcoal for the final ten minutes just adds another depth of flavor for me. I've only done this this one cook but I'll be doing some other cooks to compare. I have a tri tip to play with next!
