i have heard ppl say that maks use alot of pellets. nah. i don't believe they do. i poured one 20lb bag of peach pellets into #63's hopper. this is after 3 rib cooks. my rib cooks start like this. flip switch and let her ignite. come back outside and turn #63 to 275°. come back after 1/2 hour. cook ribs for 3 3/4 hours. so 4 1/2 hours per rib cook. this is after 3 rib cooks.

The people who say arent around here....You have to burn pellets to make smoke but the MAK is great on pellets. Thanks for the proof once again

I just ran the 2 Star for 12 hours set at 225. Started with a full hopper of BD hickory pellets. At the end of 12 hours there is easily more than half of the pellets remaining in the hopper. Perhaps those who are critical of pellet consumption are burning a pellet that doesn't burn as hot and efficiently so consequently MAK has to burn more pellets to keep the temp constant. Just like an auto, get the right fuel and your mileage is better.
