So I decided to pull the trigger and get the new 2012 MAK 2 Star. I have one of the older models (#280ish) and last week became the proud owner of #1080! Here are some pics of the first week of fun and yum!
Good question Spark...I am still trying to figure that out myself. Initial impression is that I prefer the 2012 for the build quality if nothing else. I need to do several more cooks and side by sides to truly determine a preference. Bottom line is they both are amazing machines! MAK fan for life here. Stay tuned!
Most of the changes are covered in another thread but the biggies for me are full flamezone pan, entire pit is now stainless, updated pellet boss with new faceplate and BT functionality, new drip pan mount keeps grease out of the pit, etc...
