Yes, follow scooter's advice and make some bacon. It's a lot easier than you might think.

I developed that recipe a few years back. It's a nice balance of salty, with a hint of sweet and tang from the apple cider. The Applewood smoke gives a nice deep smoke flavor.

Be sure you let it sit for at least a couple days before you slice it (wrapped or in a sealed container) to allow the smoke to permeate.

Only problem is that your friends will start buying pork bellies and asking you to make bacon for them...
