I have a new pellet smoker. Do you have to used the pellets made be the company, or is it OK to use pellets that have no additives, 100% wood. The bag I just saw at the grocery store is only $2.50 per bag, instead of $18.00?
What Sparky said! If they aren't food grade, they will most likely have some additives that might make them bad for you to cook with. If they are for heating, use them for heating only.
