Quick question on MAK or any other pellet grills

WHat gauge extension cord should you use if your having to plug in ? I know the length makes a big difference on what gauge you use. I guess maybe the right question would be how many amps does the MAK grill pull then one could use the chart to fig out what gauge to use.... SO lol how many amps does a 1star pull ?


Here is a chart from Lowes
At 50' 14-15 amps use 14 gauge
At 100' 14-15 amos use 12 gauge

At 50' 16-20 amps use 12 gauge
At 100' 16-20 amps use 10 gauge

Hey thanks Tent... I read the thread sounds like they were talking if your using a generator which is good info to know also.

The power usage is the same whether it's a generator, battery/inverter, or house current.

I use a 100' 14 gauge drop cord to run both of my pellet grills with no problems. Its rated for 1,875 watts/15 amp; well above the 137 watt/1.2 amp max usage of the MAK.
