Running the MAK 2 star in the rain...

So, the plan for this coming Sunday (Easter) was to put a lamb shoulder on the smoker starting early in the morning and slow cook it until dinner time. I just checked the forecast for the Detroit area and it looks like rain. Possibly a decent amount of it.

Can it be operated in the rain?
If it would work, would it be bad for it?
Could I leave it alone without having to fiddle with it regularly during rain?

It can and will operate in the rain. Mine has operated in the rain many times. No fiddling required.

another thing about made in the usa specifically oregon....I think they dont know what sun looks like!

Just make sure you have enough pellets in the hopper for the entire cook so you don't have to open the hopper lid while it's raining.
