Skewered Apple BBQ Championship

There is a PNWBA (Pacific Northwest Barbeque Association) sponsered event this weekend here in little old Yakima Washington. Sixty Five teams competing for $35,000 in prize money. I am not going to enter this year because I am not confident with my skill level yet, but I am definitly going to go hang out at least on Saturday. I have set a goal to compete next year. You guys have helped to increase my skill level. Now I just need to keep practicing to get down consistant product.
If anyone from here is going to be there Saturday I would LOVE to meet you.

Larry, I am entering a competition next month in a town mear me... The Canton, Georgia PigNic.. I am just entering the backyard competition to get a better feel for the whole process. You might consider trying that. It's a smaller entry fee ($125) and you only cook chicken, ribs and pork. This is a KCBS event, but I assume PNWBA might have something similar.

This event doesn't have a back yard competition. The KCBS pork in the pines I went to last month did. Thats a great idea! Will have to keep my eye out. Good luck in the event.
