OK, so I just seen this on Facebook...

It is my son posting pic's of his cook this morning and his pic description reads - "Beer butt chicken and bacon wrapped beer butt chicken"

He lives a 5 hour drive from me and I am just a proud father!

It was his 22nd birthday last week and we sent him a very large amount of bbq equipment and a bottle Gentleman Jack to jump start his cooking interests for his birthday. About a month ago he purchased that Holland Legacy grill that he's cooking on.

your son's chicken looks good. bacon on beer can chicken. i have never tried that before. going to have to try it. right on. that does make a father proud. when my son moved out (ya ya ya) and we bought him a 22 1/2" weber kettle, chimney, grill grates, tongs and spatula. he loves it and cooks on it alot. i came home last week and he had a grocery bag fill up w/ stuff outside near the q's. i asked him "whicha doing son?". he said "doing a little shopping dad". this can't be good for me. i have a box w/ where i keep my extra rubs. he went into that one. he took one rub of everything i had 2's of and a bag of lump. what can ya say. at least he is using his weber.

Haha, great stuff guys! I wish my kids would do more BBQ, my daughter has learned to make my version of BP's 7-Way Bypass Potatoes.

hmmm, bacon wrapped chicken eh? I usually season under the skin but leave the skin on to protect the meat during cooking then peel it off after cooking is done. The Mrs and the daughters don't eat it due to the fat content but I think next time I'll try removing the skin then season the bird then wrap with bacon then cook.
