What is a good temp gauge or digital thermometer ? I like to get one that i can run through the back of my grill into the exhaust hole and just leave it in as i cook. Rather spend the money for a good one , so taking opinions, thank you ~

Yes, what BP said... CALIBRATE! There's info on the web for how to calibrate bi metal thermometers using the adjustment nut on the back.

ALSO, for the best accuracy, when you calibrate be sure to find out the boiling point of water for the altitude where where you live! Example: where we live is about 1000 feet above sea level so water boils at about 210.5° F NOT 212°.

And be sure the probe is near the grate level so you know what's happening where your food is cooking.

I would go with wireless digital like a maverick but if you're set on an analog type I'd go with what Jim suggested, Tel Tru.
