All the way across the right grate side is 500 degrees even. It's all even downdraft heat going down through the grate. I still have half a restrictor rod in my auger. .......................... ZEP

Very nice Zep! I like the design with the downdraft. Does the design allow the heat to flow across the top of the drip pan only, or also under the drip pan?

The heat flows down through the grate, around the drip pan and under through an oval hole into a round 5" stack. ..... ZEP
