Just got "smoke and spice". Trying the first recipe for pulled pork.
Rub
1/4 cup black pepper
1/4 cup paprika
1/4 cup turbinado sugar
2 tbs salt
2 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp cayenne
Put the rub on tonight on my 8 lb Boston butt. I am getting up at 5 am to put it on at 225 with Hickory pellets. I am also going to mop it once an hour. I will post my mop tomorrow and more pictures. Excited!

The smell of the vinegar based mop in my kitchen. Hickory pellets smoking on my back porch. I can't think of a better way to spend my Sunday.

Just hit 195. Going to wrap it for an hour with the rest of the mop.

Last time I went with vaunted vinegar sauce. This time I went with the golden mustard barbecue sauce in the book.
1cup white vinegar
3/4 cup yellow mustard
1/2 onion minced
1/4 cup tomato puree
1 tbs paprika
6 garlic cloves
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cayenne
1/2 tsp black pepper

Great choice in book, pork recipe, and sauce! The only things I do different is use a tweaked version of their Wild Willy's Number One-derful rub and cut the golden mustard sauce with light ale.
