What gives the least smoke and what gives the most?

I love the deap smoke that our stick burner gives. I also like the ease and flavor that my pellet grill gives me. It just doesn't have the eep smoke though. I would like to know if some one could rate the level of smoke for electric, charcoal, wood, pellet and propane produce. If a stick burns is a 10 whats the rest. Where does a Big Green Egg fit in? Do they produce much smoke flavor? Thanks

Pellets are probably the lightest...it comes down to what sort of smoke flavor you want...I personally do not like the smoke from kamado style cookers many people do but it is so effeicient in its burn it tastes charcoally/chemical

I taste the most smoke on a backwoods that is loaded with wood chunks.....

the amount and depth of smoke has a lot to do with how long the smoke sits on the meat and the number of air exchanges...

I think with a charcoal smoker like a BGE or WSM you can just keep loading up wood chunks and smoke the heck out of it if you wanted.Although I am with Poppa on this one,I like a kiss of smoke to accent the meat. Not dominate it.Jut my .02.

WE have added a small pan of charcoal and flavorwood to the smoker
When the customer wanted stronger flavors
But most folks are happy with pellet goodness
