With the daylight hours growing shorter, cold weather approaching and Thanksgiving just around the corner I've been doing a lot of reflecting.
This might sound strange, but I'm actually looking forward to cold weather. It's when I really enjoy my stick burners. Let me paint a picture for you in your mind:
It's a cold, dark winter evening with little or no breeze and a clear sky. I wrap up warmly to go sit in back yard and tend to the smoker. The stars shine brightly as the snow on the ground reflects the night's light. Occasionally I hear the fire crackle or the slight rustling of leaves from a breeze or some small creature out searching for some seeds or an acorn. Sitting in the quiet stillness, the cold nips at my exposed skin reminding me that I'm alive. I sit and soak in the smell of the lazy wood smoke as it just hangs in the cold air wafting slowly away. It's magical.
What do you enjoy about cold weather?
