OK We have all had it...."I'm sick of BBQ!" "Is this all we are going to eat?"

Ahhh I have a solution...I started calling it outdoor cooking. "it's not bbq...Im cooking outdoors..there is a difference" BBQ has sweet sauce on it.

The other thing to do is to actually cook morefoods outside without the bbq flavor profile...

last night it was halibut and artichokes on the drum with a handful of oak pellets...

what this does is give you the ability to cook more and grow as a cook....

Ohhh those artichokes look real good BP!

I like to butter them with garlic and grill like you did. Then sprinkle with parmesan cheese!

My wife has stopped complaining.. she loves the food and she knows I enjoy cooking it. It also means she does not have to cook, I think she may be a keeper.

We do 90% of our cooking outside. Only 40% of it is what I would call BBQ. My favorite is breakfast.. Hickory and coffee just makes me happy.

BP that fish looks great!

That's a tasty looking plate of food there BP!

That's pretty much the line we took. We just cook lots of other stuff and leave the typical "BBQ Fare" (Ribs, BBQ Chicken, Pulled Pork, Brisket) for occasional cooks so we don't get tired of firing up the grills.

I think your artichokes are a good clue too. Side dishes are key, in my opinion. Cook more side dishes on the grill/smoker and you really expand your repitiore greatly.

Outdoor cooking is what we do. It has been fish week here. Most BBQ is for guest or parties. Really on chicken the only difference for us is the food is not covered in sauce. Still cook on the MAK or drum .

While the wife gets more burned out on BBQ than I do, I will admit to looking for new "things" to cook on my MAK. The next thing I want to try is some baking. I am testing some recipes in our oven now. I will try the transition to the MAK later. My goal is to do Deb's bourbon pecan cheese cake one of these days. When I finally get around to ordering the griddle, I want to start doing more seafood for things like tacos. Breakfast would be good, too.
