What's the best thing about pellet grills?

What would you say to someone interested in buying a pellet grill?

I always like to mention that they can be very versatile and super convenient for cooking anytime.

What's your favorite thing that pellet smokers have that other cookers don't offer?

I think it is the best hybrid out there....you can have one unit and pretty much cover your outdoor needs

Pellet grills have the convenience of a gas grill with the flavor of a wood-fired grill. AND...

They're CHEAPER to operate than a Gas grill! ;)

takes the most troublesome part of low and slow cooking...temperature control..... and makes it effortless....if you buy a Mak that is

I like the fact that you don't have to be there adding more fuel and fussing with the temperature. I got a digital thermostat for my Traeger, I can pretty much set it and forget it, if I wanted to. I check the temps often, but I really wouldn't have to, I could just set it and forget it. I smoked a 3.5 pound pork shoulder this last weekend. I put a rub on it Friday night, wrapped it in plastic wrap and left it in the refrigerator until 8:30 Sunday morning. I unwrapped it, patted on more rub and fired up my smoker. I put the pork on the smoker at 10 AM and put the setting on smoke, stuck a temp probe in the side of the roast and closed the lid. I watched the temp inside the smoker and the temp of the meat, but I really wouldn't have had to, I didn't make any adjustments until the last hour of cooking, I raised the temp in the smoker so the meat would be close to 170 degree's at 5:30PM. I also misted the roast with apples juice about five times during the cooking cycle. Maybe next time I do this I'll set my alarm clock for 5:30 and take a nap.

Best thing? I hate it, everything about it, it's become the bane of my existance. Since I bought my GMG family anf friends refuse to leave me alone. They stop by with random pieces of raw meat, just to say "hi", they rave about the ribs, or ABT's or pulled pork, or chicken thighs....and curiously ponder out loud "so what else are you planning on bbq'ing?", it's been a terrible experiance I tell you. :)

Now excuse me as I have to sneak home from work to fire her up and drop some ribs on this afternoon.
