Haven't been around here much, the last month was interesting to say the least! Have some more time to cook now and decided to get back in the swing of things with a little Japanese yakiniku style pork.
Started with this-
Sliced the pork into medallions
Made the marinade using, Garlic, Soy Sauce, Mirin, Miso, Sugar, Rice wine vinegar, roasted sesame seeds, Dry mustard, Pepper, and sesame oil.
Everyone in the pool for an eight hour swim
While the MAK is warming up, tossed some Squash and Zucchini with store bought soy ginger sauce
Everything on the grill, pork on the sear grate over the flame zone (original style) and veggies in the basket
Pork flipped after about 4 minutes
Looking good
Served pork over Jasmine rice with the veggies and nice Sapporo
This was a great meal, pork came out juicy and tender and the marinade had just the right balance of flavors. The only thing I might add next time would be some red pepper for a little kick.
