Yoder or Mak

Well I have been using a Traeger Texas grill for several months and have decided it is worth the upgrade to a better grill since I got a buyer for my Traeger. I am considering either a MAK 1 star or one of the Yoder (probably the 640). I am leaning towards the Yoder after watching some video reviews on it and such. This will be used as a smoker and a grill and I cook on mine multiple times a week. It won't be toted around anywhere, just sitting out at the house. Which do you guys recommend and why?

I am not knocking Yoder here, but we looked heavily at the Yoders. When all was said and done we went with the MAK 1 Star and I don't regret it one little bit.

MAK has a proven reputation and track record. I like the fact that Bob (MAK Daddy) is involved here in this forum and MAK related questions get answered pretty quickly.

If we had it to do over again I would still pick the MAK every time.

I believe you would be very happy with either... take your time and do your research. We went with a Yoder and love it...wouldn't change a thing. We cook on our Yoder almost every day. Find what works for you and start having fun!

Well I went with the Yoder YS640. I got the extra shelf (not sure if I will need it but since they have to do some welding to get the rails in there I thought it was better to get it), grill grates, and cover. Should be here within a week to a week and a half.

Congrats on the Yoder, I think you will be surprised by how solid a grill it is when it first arrives. With the 2 choices you narrowed your decision down to, you are bound to be happy with either grill.
